"Dominique" Cockers started after our son was raised, and we had the time to get involved. We have always admired cockers and especially enjoyed their beauty. We thought if we could learn how to breed beautiful animals like these, it would give us great satisfaction. So we started our journey by trying to locate a foundation bitch for our line. We had no idea how difficult it would end up being, and we made mistakes along the way.
Finally, we made our way to Stanley & Betty Rodgers home, Glenwild's (now retired breeders) and fell in love with a red & white half-faced girl that they offered us as a show prospect. Dave especially liked her. He thought her markings were unique and thought that was what made her "Kayla", Glenwild's White Gold. Well, she never did end up getting her championship. We don't fault only her half-face and boarderline 10% red markings, but also our inexperience for not orchestrating her show career correctly.
Kayla turned out to be an excellent producer, and we couldn't have chosen a better foundation for our line. Kayla has given us eight champions to date. She was the number 2 top producing dam for 2001. Her grandchildren are thrilling us more and more by their accomplishments that we thought were not possible in this short amount of time breeding.
We want to thank all the judges along the way who noticed and picked our dogs. We especially want to thank Heidi Armour, if it was not for her we would not have accomplished what we have so far. She is an excellent handler and a great FRIEND. We have learned so much from her. We make a great team and look forward to many more years with many more wins. We are so proud of our dogs.
We also want to thank our Kayla, whom we love from the bottom of our hearts.
